This project explores the journey of becoming a prima ballerina, focusing on the dedication, discipline, and personal sacrifices required to achieve such a respected position in ballet, as well as the challenges faced once a dancer’s career ends. I presented the work in an accordion book to symbolise the unfolding journey of training and growth, while its flowing structure reflects the movement and rhythm of ballet.
The visual style was inspired by Armin Hofmann, using clean layouts, strong contrast, and black-and-white imagery to capture the elegance, precision, and intensity of ballet. The dramatic photography highlights movement, form, and emotion, reinforcing themes of strength, control, and performance.
